Program Information for 2020-2021
Salem Basketball offers registration for 3 different programs:
The Travel Program is for boys grade 4-8 (Merrimack Valley Basketball League) and girls in grades 5-8 (River Valley League). The travel program is restricted for Salem residents only. This consists of a team for each grade (boys and girls seperate) which competes against other town teams in the area. Tryouts are held and individual players are selected based on ability. Any player who trys out for for the travel program and does not make the team is automatically enrolled in the recreational program.
The Recreational Program is for boys in grades 3-12 and girls in grades 3-10. The recreational program is open of all. There are no tryouts, anyone enrolled is placed on a team. All players must attend evaluations so that teams can be created equally.
The Instructional Program is for boys and girls in grade 2. This program offers instruction to younger players just starting to learn the game. There are no teams. Emphasis is on learning the fundamentals of the game in a instructional station environment.
Program Fees:

Travel Program - $280+ uniform cost (if needed)

Recreational Program - $160 for one child, $95 for second, $55 each additional

Instructional Program - $65
- Late Fee - $15 (for registering after October 1st)
If you are registering one child for recreation and one child for travel you would pay the family price. If your child makes the travel team a then the balance would be due after tryouts.
Hardship scholarships are available. Salem Basketball allocates funds yearly towards players whose families do not have the financial ability to pay their children's registration fees.
